With everything else on your plate it might seem daunting to to cater to everyone’s dietary restrictions at you wedding, but you’d be surprised how simple it is and how many caterer’s have options in place for situations like these.
Ask on the invitation.
When you’re inviting a lot of people it’s hard to know who has dietary restrictions. One way to find out is through your RSVP card, consider adding a space for guests to let you know of any special dietary restrictions.
Talk to your caterers.
If you find that there is a large portion of your guests who have dietary restrictions it’s important to let your caterer know ahead of time. Many already have meal alternatives in place that they can substitute in place with little or no extra cost to you.
Keep food separate and label.
If you’re having a buffet, have foods labeled with ingredients. Avoid cross-contamination by separating food as well and make sure they all have their own utensils. If you are having a plated dinner, coordinate with your caterer about where the guest with the food restriction will be sitting.
Budget for cost.
Most caterers will accommodate dietary restrictions at no additional cost, however if you are going to have a gluten-free cake in addition to your main cake or you’re subbing almonds for peanuts then there might be cost involved. It’s something to consider in your budget.
